Squeaky Clutch Driving Me Nuts!

Hey guys,

Okay, so my clutch pedal is squeaking real bad when I let the clutch out. I got up behind the dash and tried to WD-40 everything I could see but it's still doing it. Is this the spring? Anyone have any tips on what else I could do (besides turn the radio up). It's not like it's a big problem, but it's just really annoying!

sounds like your clutch bearing needs greasing. You may be able to take off your flywheel cover and get acsess to grease it

My 77 highboy was doing the same thing. Turned out that the z-bar in the linkage had worn out bushings. Pretty easy fix.

The clutch itself is a fairly new/low miles Centerforce clutch and it works great. I'm sure that the sqeaking is coming from inside the cab around the linkage somewhere. I just can't pin point it.

Deluxetruck, was your problem in the cab right around the pedal? Can you tell me more about it?

Mine squeaks too. It is inside the cab. Try some white lithium grease on the linkages. I should spray mine today since it is slow at work.

Really, I'll give that a shot. It really does just sound like something that needs a little lube.

Wow--small world! What brought you to Clearfield-town?

Yea, Denny's Beer Barrel Pub is still there. I don't go there any more because it's always a two hour wait for your food..but it is one of the few things this town is known for anymore!!

If you make it into town again, let me know. I'll take you to my favorite watering hole. They have great normal-sized burgers!
