frame primer pictures

I was trying to think of a catchy thread title... like "THIS COW IS DONE !!!"

or "COW COOKER FOR RENT" but nothing seemed to work so it was what it is...

and to go along with the 'shake my paint' thread.... here is the end result of the primer session.... didn't show any accessories... just frame pics. The Sherwin Williams Acrylic Urethane Primer flowed out so well ... and dried nicely to touch in about an hour and after about 2 days in an 80° garage was very hard... next stage will be sanding it out and hopefully next weekend , weather permitting, we'll do the final coat...

all painting was done under respirator protection... but you sometimes can't help but get a wiff when working outside the 'booth' getting the next pieces ready... this stuff is wicked and a cough bothered me for a couple of days till it finally dug in and started ruining my lungs permanently

Looks great!! I wish I was that far. May I ask how you built the rotisserie? is it the one from hotrodder.com? I'm about to make one myself, and would like to copy yours, if ya don't mind.

That is a beautiful job, John. I live the filleting around the welded joints. Sanding it will really be sweet. It looks like a show frame to me.

Nice job with the frame and primer. What do you intend on top coating with?
My frame will hopefully be getting sandblasted in about 3 weeks, and I am debating on what to prime/finish.
Thanks, Fred

thanks guys for all the nice comments... it took a long time to get there..

havi... don't know nuthing bout the hotrodders rotisserie... this one is home made...no plans but I can take some measurements for you... mostly 2.5" thick wall tubing and some 2" and 1.5" pipe

Fred... top coat will be SW sunfire product ...same urethane in a dark gray metallic

fridge... that fan will push some air but can't find a alternator that will handle it.

Better start shopping for that portable generator to run the fan, can't wait to see how you mount the fan or how you fab the generator in the bed and make it look as good as the frame, just my thoughts, Garry
