Hey John, If we offer up some cookies will you show us that monster V12 you are planning the fan for? Oh if you cant locate a alternator big enough, a 2,500 power inverter should do the trick

Rod...

did it on the driveway under one of those vinyl garages you see at H.F. for 150 bucks... it now has beautiful gray marbly looking highlights on the side walls, but I know with the vinyl off gases and with a scrub brush they will clean right off. we were very pleased with the results... hardly any dust or criters in the finish... I think the urethane fumes kill them before they can light !!!

Bobby...

no master's buckle here... I'm just a rookie with some very talented friends who are kind enough to help me... I'm a good organizer and helper

Shane... I couldn't run that fan... that's the best shop fan in the world.. you might notice the room in the shop... I only have little footpaths left now

the fan is this one

well you caught me Rod... yea, since I've retired I've built over 7000 frames on that rotisserie.. NO Wait ??? that's not right ??? Now I remember, I've hit my head or skinned my shins on that rotisserie 7000 times... that's the ticket

and that retired part ??? what a hoot !! I was out sick one day last week and still managed to log 46 hours... not counting the full day I put in Saturday for my wife's business.... if this is retirement I don't know how much longer I'll last !!!

4 years huh ??? man... time flies when you're having fun don't it...

Looks real nice,John. I sprayed my frame and it is peeling. The dp40 epoxy primer was old--and should have known better. So I am blasting it over tomorrow, and new epoxy and then it will get meadow-mist green.....kind of ugly, but grows on ya!!! You keep a neat shop like me. I like that!! Bill

Cuz,

Nice to see some progress outa ya! What's next after final paint on the frame?

I too was shooting paint this past weekend. Wish it had gone as will as your's did. Shot final colour on the firewall, interior and then the inner fenderwells, insides of the front fenders, deflector panels, grill, and some bit like that.

Unfortunately was through the firewall before I figured out I putting it on too heavy. Hopefully it'll be warm enough this weekend to sand and redo the firewall.... My custom front gravel pan developed a bad case of runs also...sigh... Everything else actually looks good. Guess I shoulda practiced before my first time shooting something other than primer.....

The theory was to paint everything that would allow me to put the front clip on and hopefully leave it on.....

Later,

Later,
after final color..... start reassembling suspension and try to get back to re-piling parts... this truck is in three buildings now and needs to reunite. After the rolling stock is complete... reattach the brakes/lines and add fuel tank/lines... mostly make the frame complete... I think then the frame and cab will swap spots in the garage if I can and the final body work for cab will begin as well as engine work. The cab only really needs a lot of block work and primeing... then you knows the rest of the story.

I shot a good bit of this primer and had a few runs, mostly on the curves... running board supports... had a hard time maintaining spray distance around the curve... My guru scolded me... can't wait to try my hand on the color !!! but I think I'll stick to flat panels and leave the tricky stuff to the master painter.

yea, progress feels good... I'd almost forgotten

later, cuz

John

Thanks, John. I was mostly curious to the vertical post with all the holes drilled into it. And how the other piece is sleeved over it with the bolt. Dimension-wise. The square tube I cab get thru work.
