Strangly enough, I saw just that truck....it was a service vehicle at some airport I was flying through....it pulled up right under the window I was looking out while the plane was boarding. It looked ridiculous....
the wreckers have the rear end at the back of the truck.i was talking about using the short bed with factory dually fenders set similar to the way sycostangs truck is.
It apparently was a fleet only option... Does anybody have any idea around how many of these were made? I'm lookin at one that's in really rough shape, and I dont wanna get it unless its as rare as I'm thinkin it is.... any help would be appreciated.
Nope, sorry... it aint my truck... not yet anyway... i have seen it in person though and it looks much better (or worse depending on how you look at it) from the side...
I actually probably wouldnt have even looked twice at it if I hadn't of noticed the F-350 badge on the side, which really surprised me considering the length... it was parked against a fence and between a car and a van so I could tell at a glance that it was a shorty... a closer look revealed the dual rears, and thats when I got interested.
If I do end up buying the truck, I will definitely post more pics!
No, I saw it in person... It does look like a long bed in the pic, put I am 100% sure its not. I have a little experience with cameras so I understand why it would look like that... If I go back down there before its sold (or if I buy it) I'll snap a few more pics for ya.
funny thing., the add called it a 3/4 ton, but the badge on the fender (the one that didnt fall off) and the VIN (1FTJF35L1GNA45307) both say its a 350...
I'm saying this because I've read that Ford did make some 3/4 ton reg cab short bed duallys, but I havent found any 1 tons others than (apparently) this one... It looks for all the world like a factory truck... Needless to say this truck has still got me scratchin my head...
The truck does have good potential, but it is a single cab longbed dually.
This is Big Papi's truck (shortbed)
It has two stake pocket holes on each side.
Her is Spennyman's truck (longbed)
It has 3 stake pocket holes on each side.
This is a shortbed flareside (note how close the rear fender is to the cab)
This is 82 f-100swb's truck.^^^^^
This truck has 3 stake pocket holes on each side. The distance between the fender and cab is too far apart. It is still nice to have but it really does not look like a short wheelbase.
