NC32, that truck is a long bed - the optical illusion it's a shortie comes from the size of the fiberglass fenders and the width of the rear axle. Take a look at this picture Kyle posted:

Notice how close the front edge of the fiberglass fenders is to the cab's rear wall, only a few inches away really. Now take a look at the pic you posted of the dually you're looking at:

Notice the long area of flat bed side between the cab's rear wall and the front edge of the fiberglass fender? The stepside and dually fenders are very close in dimensions, which means that if that dually was indeed a shortie then its fenders would be pretty much right against the cab, like they are on that blue F100 stepper. I have a RCLB dually F350, and even tho I know it's an 8-footer every time I look at it from the side it strikes me how short it seems, gotta love an axle that's about as wide as the bed is long and fenders that take up good 3/4 of the bed sides length.

All that said, I have seen a shorty dually, but it was a Chev that started as a shortbed stepper and the dude installed a fleetside bed on it then cut and drilled the bed sides for a pair of factory dually fenders to bolt up, then swapped in a 1-ton dually axle under the rear and switched the front suspension over to the 1-ton dually stuff as well. It actually looks pretty sweet, but it is also lowered a few inches so that helps out quite a bit.

It's an 8' bed. Ford never offered a short Styleside bed on an F350 Regular Cab.

There is no way to determine what the wheelbase is by the VIN.

The wheelbase is listed separately on the Certification Label, bottom line, far left.

I called and asked the sellers to measure the bed... they called back and said 6 foot 10 (which I've sure never heard of) so who knows... Again I'm thinkin aftermarket... anyway I'll go look for myself in a few days hopefully...

I'll betcha they measured the floor of the bed only, since there is no such thing as a 6' 10" Styleside bed.

The pic you posted of this dually appears to have a stake pocket in the center.

The short beds had two, one on either end. Long beds have three, front/center/rear.

the floor of a long bed is 8'.. almost exactly.... and nowhere near 6-10 side to side...

the only way they could get 6-10 is a wrong measurement or a custom bed...

It's a 4x4 with a 4bb 460 and I THINK the C6... its a column shift whatever else it is... borg warner 1345 I beleive... 1 ton axles.. the suspension looks a little more beefed up than usual (which is pretty common on state trucks), but its hard to tell... interior is pretty stripped down... no seat... looks like almost all surface rust, which is great... hahaha well when I think of or find out more i'll post it... hopefully I'll get the truck...

Sounds like a custon one off.
My father and i made a 10'2" dually pickup out of a cab-n-chassis f350 dually. Just took a dually bed and took the front bulkhead out and then took the front 2'2" of another bed and welded it to it. The truck looked very proportional, being 8' duallys look short. It was funny seeing people try to figure out how we got TWO grizzle 660 in the bed AND closed the tailgate

Ford never offered a short bed duall till 01 or 02. And thel only come as a supercab or crew cab. NO reg cabs

Suweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!! Got some pics???

Sounds a little like the big bad medium duty pickups Ford used to take to the shows... Ford really should produce those... compete with (and beat) the Kodiaks...

I didn't say the bed was 6' 10" side to side.

I have the Ford truck parts catalogs: There is NO SUCH THING as a short Styleside bed listed for ANY F350 Regular Cab pickup...whatever year it is.

Call the owner and ask him to tell you what the wheelbase is. It's listed on the Certification Label (found on the B pillar), bottom line-far left.
