soo i know i read somewhere that some guys 03 psd was runnin louder then his 99 or somthing bout 4 months ago and theres some trick to let the air outta the rails or somthing and it makes the truck quite again i guess its a problem with the 02-03's due them being quiter?? b/c i was next to a 03 psd and it seemed way quiter then mine mine seems to be as loud as a 01 ??
But if you do the in-tank & pre pump mods you will remove the air from the stock fuel system and quiet down the cackle quite a bit. Also, biodiesel users tend to have a quieter idle.....
What the fellas said above, mine tends to quiet up a bit on BIO, just a 5% blend does it. My truck is just a little louder outside than inside because of the noise insulation.
I'm a really big fan of doing this to quiet the truck down.

I went through mine as a matter of routine and was surprised to see nearly half of them were not tight on an engine that only had 75,000 miles on it.
Rocker pedastal bolts are 20 ft lb
injector retainer bolts are 120 inch lb.
After doing that you will be surprised at how much tighter the engine sounds.
Mine lost a lot of general rattling sounds while underway on the freeway.
oh well my truck is quite in side the truck but im just saying i know theres a way to let the air out of the lines of the injecters thers end caps or somthing in the fuel rails?? how hard is it to retighten all those things?? how do i do the intank mod thing i really hate how loud my truck is lol and its quite compared to my neighbers 01 well at least inside the truck
