slow browser
The comp has been doing great, have not done anythign to it of recent, not at least since my last thread about my printer not working.
Two days ago I go online and everything is slow. It is the browser, not the connection. It types super slow in the address bar but does fine like here on FTE typing this. Switching between tabs is slow and there is a hang-up when a page is loading up.
Watching online videos is fine, the download speed is fine. My other comp (dell, xp, ie7) works fine.
I been searching the internet for a solution but can not come across any that have worked.
I have ran a scan with mcaffee and avg with the latest updates. I have turned off my add-ons and cleaned the temp files, cache, ect...
The comp has been restarted several times, the phishing filter is disabled.
Thank you.

What is using the most CPU time??
Do you have any anitspyware programs installed ? Like spybot or adaware??
I have spybot, RD resident.

Forget about the memory usage column..
The one that is most important is the CPU column.. Click on the column heading CPU and sort so the highest one is at the top..
Usually it is system idle process and it can be up to 99% meaning nothing is running..
Let me know what are the other high ones.. Say the top 4 would probably be good enough..
I am in task manager and under the process tab. I see user name, CPU, memory, description.
The CPU it lists.....taskmgr***** (4), iexplore***** (2), dwm***** (1), TeaTimer***** (1), avgas***** (1).
But the last 4 sort of randomly switch places and become a 1 or 2 and taskmanger sometimes becomes a 3. Also some hpquste comes in and TCRtray comes to.

If it does it doesn't appear that any one program is bogging down the system..
I don't have any other ideas at the moment.. Sorry
MS blaster comes to mind, but I might be wrong.
Then again, I'm on XP, so it's most likely not what you have. Sorry.
