I did it again............. lost parts. I have misplaced the two bolts that hold the cam thrust plate on. I can't even remember what they look like. I believe that they are just a regular bolt, but am not sure. I have another 400 sitting around, but I just installed the timing cover and put the water pump on, don't really want to open that one back up again.
So, does anyone know if there are any clearance issues with just installing a regular hex head bolt in there?
Anyone happen to have an engine tore down and willing to take a pic for me???
The engine in question is a 78 400. has comp cam timing gears.
The heads of them aren't very thick. They have lines scribed through the head to. If you have a old factory stock oil pump, the cover plate bolts on it are the same thing.
