While all of these "first gen" Ford efi's function the same, there are a few design differences in the first couple of year(s)
Just one little tidbit - the 1985 models differ from the the 1985 models in that the throttle body is un heated on the 85, the 86 has two small water hoses to heat it.
The 1985/86 also use there own unique filter setup, the later EFI engines are quite a bit different.
