Thanks Bill!

You were probably the person who gave it to me in the first place!

My truck was doing the same exact thing. I have an 87 f-250. My problem started out as that an got worse! Is it carburated? My problem ended up being that my gas lines were sucking air and causing the truck to faceplant.

No carb on my 88 F250 351w - its EFI.

I did notice this evening that after it died the fuel gauge needle swung way past the "F"ull mark for awhile. Ever since I got my truck that needle has pointed to "E"mpty. Maybe it's another sign of some wiring gone askew. At this point I'm hoping for any type of fix that doesn't involve dropping a tank....

You have the Magnetic Fuel Gauge, so past way past the "F"ull mark is an open circuit. An short would be the other way, way past the "E" mark.

I have had that exact thing on my 2005 V10 Excursion.

I checked the codes and got a 29 in memory which translates to a problem with the Speed Sensor.

Can a failing speed sensor cause my stalling problem. I thought the problems with this sensor primarily affected your cruise control which, by the way, my truck does not have. My speedo also seems to be working fine.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!
Code reader said bad speed sensor. Changed sensor and all was good. No more codes and no more stalling.
