This is an OFF-ROAD forum...so that's why it's being compared to everything else. The point is to show they're not the best offroad tire. Yes they can be wheeled, and yes they have their purpose...but when it comes to OFF-ROAD they suck compared to the alternatives. If they're used as a street tire they're great, in the sand...mediocre, anything above wet grass they suck compared to what you could get. Try taking them in 3ft of mud...which would you rather have Boggers or the slicks that the A/T's turn into.
I agree 100% they are not the best off road tire, But, I have wheeled them quite a bit in my f150 when my 250 (which has swampers) is broke or being worked on. I just think alot of people saying they suck really havent used em, or just going by what they hear. I have definatly gone through more than 3 ft of mud and made it through some pretty nasty ****. I honestly dont see how you can get stuck on wet grass. Maybe they spin and you gotta go forward and back again, but stuck is hard to believe. If they can make it though this, I think you can go through some grass. I know its no OFF-ROAD tire but they work pretty good for me. Or...Maybe yall are different and I'm just crazy, or you just cant drive! J/k
And I got stuck here only because there was a damn stump under the mud that I hit, but got pulled out and hit it again with no problem (Without hitting the stump)
This got VERY deep (front would have gone under) and had to back out.
All I'm saying is I just wanted to show some actual proof that these tires are not as bad as everyone says they are. BUt it probably wont convince anyone that they are actually decent, but hell its worth a shot.
And dont get me wrong, I have been stuck many times with these tires, and they have left me stranded by myself (my fault for wheeling alone) for a while leaving me to sit there wishin I had swampers. But for the occasional offroad (which I really shouldnt be tearing up my DD as much as I do anyways)
And Truckin- I completly agree that... "If you dont push your limits, than you wont know what your capable of, and you wont learn anything new... "
You did set yourself up Ingolf, when you stated that you dont remember getting stuck? stuck is usually memorable, often times your feet get wet/muddy/cold in the process of getting unstuck, sometimes other vehicles are required etc! And,unfortunately, when you call someone a hillbilly, you better use spellcheck on your posts, otherwise that "hillbilly" has more material to skewer you with... I drive here in Ca.,i dont drive much mud,but many here are talking mud when they talk 4 wheeling, and mud isnt any A/T tires forte. you might notice that i stated that i like the BFG A/t's for my off-roading,they work fine for the sierras, the "hillbilly" and others dont have a problem with my posts, the tires work for my environment, and my terrain! these guys dont profess to have much experience in snow, and i dont have much experience in mud.... thanks to the First amendment they have the right to there opinions, and so do you. BTW you have misspelled Hillbilly as well, its two ll's in hill, two ll's in billy
The Tinion: Im not tryin to call you out or anything in particular, but the first pic the mud looks to be no more than 4" deep the second we dont have any idea whats really there cause of the standing water.... Same with pic 3, i do partly agree with what you have said... But a'ts just dont perform very well in the mud... It takes ALOT of wheel spin, just to keep some momentum going... They slick up to easily too... Which is not good.
yea my bad... I orignally had a post for ingolf... But carlene asked that no personal shots be taken at people so i went back to the a/t's.... Bacon boy does not offend me as bacon is AWESOME so its like calling me wonder boy!!!!! :lol Yes m/t are a good step up from a/ts.

Ingolf didnt post the pics, I did. And those pics were not by far anything serious, I just wanted to show that you can go through more than "wet grass, 3 ft of mud, and so on". And I understand you not tryin to call me out or anything, no offense taken.
I fixed the post... My bad though... Yea i agree thats about the limits of a/t's.
As for being stuck on wet grass... ive done that with my current tires. I COULD have gotten out, but didnt want to rip up the yard... Thats what i get for pressure washing for 5 hours getting the mud out from the undercarriage of the truck...

5 hrs...yeah that will do it, turn your yard to a mudhole. What kind of Goodyears do you have, the Wrangler MTR's?
Ingolf, seriously grow up with this, and as to everybody else, just ignore him, if he keep the b.s. up it will be delt with, he is obviously new around here, has no respect, and doesnt seem to know how this site works... Let him keep it up, his time is coming...
Yea, if he keeps it up, he will be delt with, just dont ag it on.
Does anybody know how the a'ts do in sand like a loose beach type of sand, im plannin a trip that will involve some beach time and am curious what to expect...
i had bfg's on a toyota and they worked out really good for me they were 31/10.50's and i could take that thing pretty much anywhere i wanted to go, it made many trips to holopaw and river ranch so any florida peeps will know what i'm talking about, i would have to use 4 low and 3 gear to get up some wheel speed in thick mud, but in sand they pulled pretty good, way better the swampers i put on there after they wore out,
