It all boils down to the terrain, vehicle and operator.
I had a set of 32's on my jeep and i ran the Rubicon with no problems...but again the terrain don't require mud tires.
On a relatively stock rig a set of at's aired down do ok in sand...put swampers on the same rig and you be looking for a strap.
just to clear some things up, i never said i was better at wheeling then anybody, or that a/t's were the greatest thing since the fleshlight.
But honestly, do we need a 12 page pissing match on a ****ing tire?
whoever said it last, utfball? yeah they have theyre place, there a good mileage all terrain tire, and yes theres better options if your a hardcore wheeler. but for 85% of people out there, it's more then good enough.
So why all the talk? Yeah i was a dick before but whatever i was in a bad mood.
(and for the record, i dont think chevy is better then anything, i've driven dodge, chevy, and today i bought a brand new F-150.. so i' got a pretty good idea of my trucks
We need 12 pages because it's a free site with several thousand users. And damn I like how you changed your tune after you got your head outta your azz and realized you don't know squat. Everything you just said ingwolf has been said several times...but this is an offroad forum discussing why A/T's aren't suitable offroad tires. This section was designed to help the serious wheelers, not the posers. So man up...stop crying and justifying why you're so right and enjoy wheeling your rigs on wet grass and gravel.
My experience with BFG a/t's wasn't a good one. They were on a '05 jeep wrangler and they lasted roughly 8k and started "chunking" huge pieces of tread. Waste of money, I should have went with the nitto's I had on my f-350 but eventually replaced witht he goodyear MT-Rs that came on it.
Frankly,if twelve F$%#ing pages didnt get certain individuals riled up,this thread likely would have died 6 or 8 pages back, but since it seems to bump up the blood pressure of these people, some of us here who have S$%T-disturber tendencies, will probably stay at it as long as we get a reaction!
Your tires started chunking? Is there enough tread to do that?
I run the hell out of mine and they've worn down.
I have still yet to get my super swampers on my rig but my A/T's have worked well.
I would like to revise my old statement that I never had problems with traction. I have had a few, but it was on hillclimbs for the most part.
Which i'm going to try again with the swampers. Its a goal to conquer it. I did it once, and then it got alot worse.. dug out alot. It killed my buddies Blazer. Carburators and the angles.. HAH!
EFI FTW.
But the BFG A/T's are by far not a good tire for hard core mudding.
And I dont know if its just my tires or what, but has anyone had a problem with the sidewall falling apart? There's white parts showing where pieces of my side wall are missing........
Hence my earlier statement that they are the worst sidewalls ever.

I know alot about investments, hit me up and ask me if you don't wanna be living in a soupcan for the rest of your life ok.
Naw it's cool...I've tried to keep it classy for the most part to this point, but I guess some dip $#its just don't get it. Now if wants to drive his spoiled @$$ with his $53000 F150 down here state side, I guarantee he wouldn't be talking like that too long at least not without wired shut jaw. And this very post will probably close this thread and get me a violation...but I'm done with this idiot...some folks just can't be helped. Ignorantgolf enjoy your overpriced 150, enjoy your A/T's, congratulations on being a snot nosed spoiled little peckerhead.
