Passenger cars:

Ford Type 3.03 3 Speed Manual all Syncromesh Transmission.

The non syncro first gear Type 2.77 3 speed manual trans was only used with 144/170 (and 1964 and later 200) 6 cylinder engines.

1965 Mustangs with a V8 came standard with the Ford Type 3.03 all syncro 3 speed manual.

The following transmissions were optional.

Borg-Warner T-10 4 speed.

Ford top loader 4 speed.

C4 Cruise-O-Matic.

I'd stay far away from the Borg-Warner T-10. Parts are very hard to find and expensive if you do find them.
