Good one! I checked with the local auto part stores and they tend to overcharge for them. Plus the ones they carry don't show everything. I would like to get one from Ford, but without paying a hundred dollars for it. Any suggestions.

It's hit/miss with inventory (I've been looking for detailed diagrams so I can put my 84, 4.9 together after a 7yr. lapse between tear down and install), but these places have shop manuals on cd for decent price (about $35).

This is where I get all my manuals; Service Manuals, Owner Manuals, Wiring Diagrams, Service Bulletins - Helm Incorporated
These are the same ones used at the factory and dealership.

I generally get 'em used, do a google search for factory shop manuals, lots of places sell 'em, including ebay.

Half.com is a great place to look. I've bought a few off of the site which is a sister site to ebay. If you're lucky you can find them for little money.

I just got 3 in perfect shape from Faxon Auto Literature. They were a bit pricey, but I'm pretty sure they are either NOS or close to it

A manual is just like a good useful tool. It's an investment, and of course you can search for a good deal, but don't be afraid to spend some money on a good one, just like a tool you would buy, you will have it for years and look at all the money it's going to save you. I bet you cannot take your truck to a garage and get out of there for less than $100 labor.
