ok first i'll start out the i just had the transmission rebuilt bout 6mo. ago. but driving down the road i can hear a ringing noise or somewhere along the lines of sounding like that and it sounds like its coming from the tranny or the transfer case or that area and when i push on the pedal a lil bit or full pedal it goes away but its there at a cruising speed. and i can't figure it out just for the fact i can't hang out the door and get a better listen to where its comin from and keep the truck on the road at the same time...tried it didn't go so good...... but if anybody has any idea ur input would be help full..... thanks
Is the noise there at idle, or if you rev the motor in idle? If so feather the clutch in and out to see how the noise changes. If the noise only happens while moving, see if you can make the noise go away (without leaning out the door) by pushing the clutch in.
Also make sure they tightened the bolts on the rear tranny support back down tight. I got a 99 out of the shop once where the nuts had almost fallen off.
ok i will check into that but the only time i can get the noise to quit is by pushing on the gas pedal....and no its not there at idle and if it is i can't here it bc between the loud motor and the stacks right behind the cab i can't here it! but u can start to here it at about 5mph or so. if the sound goes away when i push the clutch in what could be wrong with it.... pressure plate bolts loose? or ???????
didn't think about checking the carrier bearing will do that tom. and let ya kno just got back home from diesel extravaganza so ain't been able to check much but didn't here the noise all weekend so not sure whats goin on...
