trying to resolve a grinding noise from the front end. I replaced the pass side wheel bearing assembly awhile ago so I removed the driver side to check the needle bearings. The needles look OK but it looks like most of the grease has left the assembly and distributed itself around the outside. So I assume the right thing to do is replace it as apposed to lube it thru the ABS sensor hole. Now this won't help my quest for a DP tuner, but it is ALSO a safety item
Anybody know the correct Napa PN? There are several on their web site with similar descriptions and most Napa employees came from Burger King.... there are $200 and $400 varieties. don't want to wait for mail order.
Truck is a 2000, SRW, 4x4, 4 wheel ABS, fine thread studs
Correction - coarse thread (wheel studs, not knuckle studs)
I went with Napa PN BRG930420 for $399 and they include the o-ring and new knuckle studs. Ford wants $427 for just the bearing unit itself. The Napa $200-ish are a cheaper brand, don't want that.
Big Steve, you'll need to know your build date, before or after 3-22-99. Dually or Single, 4 wheel or rear only ABS, and fine or coarse threads. Post details and I'll post the part # so you can check stock/order.
Smoky the part number is BR930420. BRG is the line code for premium brgs and PGB for the cheaper ones. Do you want fries with that?
