Looking for Tranny advice please. Clicking noise

I noticed a clicking while accelerating from a stop. I can duplicate the sound by breaking and pushing the go pedal and it also does it in reverse from a stop. I don't notice it once I get past 20MPH, although it could be from road noise.

I disconnected the drive shaft at the output of the transmission. With the tranny in neutral I manually move the output shaft and hear this racket that I don't believe to be normal. Also makes some noise when putting the tranny back to park.

Here is a quick vid of the noise. It is not coming from the transfer case. It definitely sounds like it's internal to the tranny case.

Its hard to say. Where is the most noise coming from since your next to it. It could be the trans fer case, But I can't tell by that video.

Thx for the reply.... yeah, video is mostly for the sound. It is definitely coming from the Tranny case though. I put my ear up next to the transfer case and don't hear anything but up next to the tranny and it's obvious.

Is this thing getting ready to grenade?

Just a guess, but I'd say yes! Baby it, don't go racing.

Update

Before looking into the Tranny I inspected the u-joints (one piece Drive shaft) and there was no movement and visually they looked ok. Plus I replaced them about a yr ago.

Today I pulled the DS out and found the <1yr old rear axle u-joint frozen.

Replaced U-joint and the clicking is gone. I'm still kinda worried about the noise the Tranny makes so the next time someone has their DS disconnected let me know if you hear a lot of noise while rotating the output shaft. Thx

So I learned a couple things here. A visual and trying to move the DS and u-joints in place won't always tell you 100% that your u-joints are good. Don't buy AutoZone made in Japan garbage for my truck. It won't last.
