Rick,
That turbo is shiny!
My pic of the finished turbo, up-pipes, & hpx project.
Thanks Roland, I will try to get some pics up today if it lets me. I don't know what is wrong with this.

Give us some boost #s and SOTP observations.
Gotta go, I'm getting a bite.
From what I read on here, I can't go WOT till about 2 tanks are run through the truck. I did do about 60% pedal and the guy watching the boost said I hit close to 30#. I feel it's spooling up faster then the stock. I will be able to tell more after I take my down-pipe loose and adjust it so it's not hitting the firewall. One hell of a drone in the cab. I tried to adjust it last night but I will have to take the pipe competly off the rest of the exhaust to get it right. I will do this tonight. I will let you guys how it comes out. LOVE THE SOUND.

Nick, lol, I kept it like this sense it was new, so its not hard to keep it looking good. I think using Simple Green to clean it every few months, can get it looking good. I use paint brushes to get the hard to reach areas.

Sounds like a crappy install job to me.
Are you sure I didn't just lose a beer can in there while taking pics?
I know what it is. He misses us and wants us to come back and fix it....

I think you are right on all this. When we took the test ride after we finished, it was great, I don't remember any drone anyway. I think it is because during the test ride it got hot and after if cooled down it moved a little. Looks like the top and back is not on the clamp all the way. I will fix it this afternoon.
I don't remember you ever loosing your beer. I remember a time when you had 2 at a time.

After further review, I make a mistake on my answer to Joe's post. I didn't mean to say they did a bad install job. I just forgot about the first line when I posted. They did a great job on the install.

Thats OK, Glenn. We had a great time doing this. The guys/gals are great.
So I am going to be fishing while I await the downpipe adjustment.
LOL, Mike, I did what we talked about. Loosened all the clamps, I think I used 4 2x4s to hold the exhaust in place. Started at the down pipe tightening all the clamps. Started the truck, no noise. Fished a few times, then decided to take if for a ride. When I turn the wheel or hit it a little hard, the drone is back. Did more fishing. I think I will have it right tonight. Going down the road with a little pedal, it seem to be doing good. Seems to spool right up and making good boost. EGT is normal. I will do more testing this weekend. I will hook the TT up and run down the highway and see what I get for #s. Jeremy gave me some good information on the pros and cons of this turbo. Hopefully it works out for me.

Rick did you check to see if the exhaust is hitting the trans. crossmember? I know that when I first put mine on it was hitting it and I could hear it and feel it vibrate sometimes when I turned. I don't know if this is your problem or not, but could be something to check.

Thanks Jeffrey. It"s not hitting on the crossmember, it's the down pipe hitting the firewall. I didn't measure the turbo, but it must be a little longer then stock. I will have it this evening, I'm sure.

Ok well at least you have it narrowed down. I thought that maybe with you loosening the clamps and what not that the exhaust may have shifted or something, not sure if that's possible or not though.

You are right about the exhaust shifting after loosening the clamps. I had to wedge boards in a few places to keep the pipes where I wanted them. Had to wedge one at the crossmember after the clamps were loose. I installed the exhaust last year, so things are easy to move around. Just need to move the down pipe a little more forward.
