Thanks guys. Back at work today
. Yeah I enjoyed Iowa, It's a different kind of beauty than I am used to, maybe that's why I can appreciate it. Who knows. I think I'd be less homesick in the MV area because of the rolling hills, it's not completely flat like most of the Nebraska/Iowa area. We ended up renting a 3 bedroom farmhouse on the Western edge of the CR area, sits on 1/2 acre. It'll definitely do fine until we get our bearings together to buy.
Kind of funny, we spent Sunday night and Monday with Randy's folks back in the Omaha, NE area. I am getting a big taste of midwestern life and ideals. Seems Randy's 90 year old grandmother is pretty upset that Randy and I are moving in together before getting married. His mom is a little stressed out about it too. She gave me "the talk" about how I should try to pressure Randy into asking me to marry him.
Everything else seems to have gone fine..except, back at home my dog freaked out and tore up my brother's suitcase and $100 pair of my sister-in-laws shoes and then spent the rest of the time I was gone hiding under the bed.
good thing I stopped at the Harley store and bought them both a t-shirt. I've indentured myself to spend the next few days helping him wallpaper the inside of his camper....Here are a few more coolish pictures from the trip..
Here's a locomotive I cruised with for a few minutes right around Sterling, CO

Here's the sunrise right around Grand Island, NE.

And in the plane yesterday, there was a big system of low lying clouds across Nebraska, and it was cool to see the blue sky and the big fluffy clouds down below. I snuck my phone out of my purse and snapped a picture.
Anyways, how was your weekend Cris?
Wet noddles, Shallow Hal, 2 girls, getting better with age, finding a muse (someone needs a li'l)
My weekend was good, washed the truck on Saturday. That is a trick now that it is bigger, almost need a extension ladder rather than the 6ft one I use. LOL. Had a few too many maragritas on Sunday to prevent me from beating some ***. All in all good weekend!!
Great pics of you trip Lisa!! Did you find a house?

CR is only 4.5 hours from me, so when Smoking rolls around next year, you'll know how long the first leg of your trip is going to be.
Since the CR area got flooded, rental houses are really hard to find, usually get snapped up the second they hit the market.
Well we got tied up with this shady property management company. We found a house we liked through them, but got to the lease agreement and saw that he reserved the right to euthanize our pets at any time (WTF) and wanted a $900 non-refundable deposit for the pets, not including the regular deposit. We would've had to dig up $3,000 to get moved into this house. Randy freaked out and went bonkers when this "company" requested his bank account number and balance, and after I got him calmed down, we went and picked up a newspaper. I called on a house and met up with a local named Susan who ran her own home restoration company. She was heaven sent! She had several properties around the area and spent about 3 hours of her time (short notice!) showing us around. We ended up finding a 3 bedroom farmhouse on the edge of town on a 1/2 acre with a huge heated garage. The house still had renters in it (they are moving this weekend) but they were nice people and let us look at their house while they were still hangin out in their pajamas!

Yep, heated garage...and like Pat says, somewhere for me to put Randy when he gets unruly. lol. Unfortunately the truck wont fit in it (7 foot doors) but, she's spent her life with me outside anyway. When we buy, we'll buy property with a barn so I have somewhere to put her.
Wow, your just like my wife,, she still thinks she puts me in there, she doesnt realize it is a planned moment.. Just like when you send us shopping..we dont come back with whats on the list for a reason...I am now banned from Sams Club, Grocery stores, drug stores.. oh yeah.. Dont get me worng, she plays the game to, no more auotparts stores for her, hardware, building supply, tools stores.. ect...
On the plate for today: design 6 catalog covers, going through the 50 or so requests I had in my inbox today (my real inbox. I came back to about 200 emails). I have to design a logo for an up and coming real estate company, and set their letterset. I have to quote some apparel products for one of our big oil companies...and the list continues.
I am a multi-tasker and I get really bored unless I am doing 10 things at once..which is why I come on here and talk to you guys..it breaks up the monotony sometimes.
Besides, I have a feeling my company will offer to let me work remote from Iowa. They're going to lose a brick when I tell them I am leaving.
