Cris here's a picture of the lovely crease/dent i put in my truck about two years ago. i was towing my landscape trailer to a job and just cruising along. i realized i missed my road, and thought "i'll just whip it in this driveway and turnaround" totally had a brain fart and forgot about the trailer. so i pulled in the driveway, and realized my mistake. "no sweat" i thought, i'll just back out,no problem. now this is on a normally SUPER busy two lane road, and when the coast is clear, i begin to back out. we about halfway, this jackwad comes hauling mucho a$$ around the bend, and i should've just pulled back in and let him pass, but i was certain i could get out in time. well, in my haste i jacked it a litte too hard (no funny comments allowed) and got the corner of the trailer into the fender. must have been in the split second i glance back at the drivers mirror, cause the whole time i was looking in the passenger side mirror i was fairly close, but never close enough to think i would hit the truck. well i get to the jobsite, walk around to get something out of the passenger side of my toolbox, and here's what i saw:
i haven't gotten it fixed, cause i know as long as i am towing my trailers into very tight jobsites there's the chance it'll get scratched, dented, or otherwise damaged again. haven't had any new dents since. a few random scratches, but what truck that really gets used doesn't. when my days of pulling the trailer every day are done, and i'm just the general contractor instead of being the subcontractor i'll get i fixed, and probally get the whole truck painted.
Kevin, I did the exact same thing with mine a few years ago, but on the drivers side going around a culvert though with a load of decking materials that was loaded to far forward on the trailer by the lumber yard. But I had to get mine fixed, I flat out can't stand chit like that. I would rather walk.
