It does not come with longer bolts. You have top buy separately. I went to my local hardware store and got (12) 5/16 X 18 X 1" grade 5 bolts and washers for $1.5x / lb. No gasket, I used an RTV called The Right Stuff ( I swear by it ). There's a tag on the diff that calls for 75W-150 synthetic. Can't tell you exactly how much, I bought a 2 gallon container of it and used at least 1/2.
From Diesel Manor it comes as a kit with the bolts and washers, your tag on the diff says 75w-140, they don't sell 150.

The Diesel Manor '08 cover comes with new bolts and washers for $67+S&H.
I used Permatex RTV (whatever was the pressure/moisture resistant and safe for sensors).
I believe you need 4 1/2 quarts to fill to the bottom of the port (I used Mobil 1 sythetic that already had friction modifier for my LS).
I used Permatex "2B Form-A-Gasket Sealant" its the old school Non hardening pliable stuff in the white metal tube. Smear it on both the cover and the pumpkin mating surface, let it tack up and assemble. I don't think sealant type really matters, just so its highly oil resistant.

You're right, typo. I didn't price the diesel manor setup because I didn't have time to wait for shipping. The hardware ran me under $3, so at $68 plus $9 shipping the Diesel manor set wouldn't be worth it. Plus my dealer had it for me next day.
fivonut, the Diesel Manor kit comes with a lot better hardware than the grade 5 stuff you got cheap. I'll be spending a few extra bucks and ordering it from then. Its easier for me to just order and they come with really good hardware.

What's so good about it that makes it worth the $15 difference???
I don't know, but grade 5 was a good call. You don't need the hardened steel in grade 8, and you can get Stainless relatively cheap in grade 5 with allen heads. SS split washers would be a plus too over wave washers.
Maybe it's an odd defect, but I love shopping for new hardware for a project. I get to scour the bolts bins at ACE for half an hour, pick out exactly the bolts, washer and nut I want to use. It's better than burger king.
I take that back, I thought it came with stainless hardware. For the cost difference I would get the cover separate and buy stainless hardware. They do send it with very corrosion resistant hardware, but for the same cost or a little less you could pick up stainless at a local hardware store.
hardware stopre stainless is usually a low quality stainless. You gotta go to a place with teh good stuff like mcallester carr I believe its called sr something similar. I have one not too far away here in chicago. With the placement of these botls I'd wanat the good stuff.
Plain black oxide gr5 SHCS will rust up so quick its not funny. My front diff cover had one from the factory and it was in bad shape, removing it was a PITA) The dieselmanor kit has what they call in McMaster an "Ultra Corrosion Resistant" coating and its far better than zinc and costs more to boot. If you want to buy everything seperatly go ahead and do it. It was just must easier for me to go to Dieselmanor, order the cover kit with my CC. A couple minutes to order it and I can put it on right when I get it. Plus they are an FTE sponsor.

Yeah, I agree. Cheap hardware will look like crap in no time, not to mention the winter salt some trucks may see.

Like I said, I needed it ASAP. I didn't have time to wait for it to get shipped to me. My dealer had it next day and I wasn't about to pay another $40 for the Ford bolts. If your concerned about buying from site sponsors, I had suggested FTEpartsguy, who is also a site sponsor and shipped to your door you're looking at $51, which leaves you with a $21 difference to go hardware shopping and buy gas. It doesn't really matter, I prefer to get the most for my money, I've used this hardware before on another car and after ten years there's not even a spot of rust on it. If people are willing to spend the extra money just for the sake of simplicity then go for it. The economy needs the support!!!
