David85 Your telling me that the turbo at the O rings only gets 200*F ???? I thought it would be hotter than that....
If you are talking about the O rings at the center section of the turbo that seal it to the pedistal and close of the CDR opening to the intake manifold, than I going to say yes. The center section is cooled by oil and should not get much hotter than the rest of the engine. If it did, you could end up with the bearing of the turbo coking up as the oil burnend.
The engine Kit I had came with rubber gaskets for the valve covers. Not sure if one type is better than the other, but mine seem to work fine.
Dave S. I have my 3 coats of copper spray on my gaskets.. do you have any other # for that gasket that you got from napa besides 30311?? thay say it doesent work on thier computers........... DAVE S and DAVE85 So viton O rings should br ok?? !!!! thanks for the help !!!
I was in a pump shop with all the equipment to set it up.
So I guess the answer would be not something a five year old could handle.
I will try to dig through my reciepts and see if I can find another number.
May take a day or two.
A faster option, look at the clamp on the cross over pipe.
Measure the bolt centers across the clamp.
The gasket I used is the same shape as the clamp.
It has a 2.25" center opening and the bolt holes were a little to close together.
That is the closest thing they had three of.
One on the manifold to Y pipe.
One on each end of the cross over pipe.
Thank for all the help guys, I know I've got alot of questions but I realy want to do this right so I dont have to do this over any time soon........and it was supposed to be a simple injector change....( I swear somtimes I think that all ford trucks hate me)
DAVE S. what kind of studs did you use for exh. and intake???? grade 8 or 9 and can a person use G-8/9 bolts on the heads??? (Im sure that one will be a NO, but I can hope) OH YA..and the anti-seize that I have is good for 2400* it is for "nukeulear" use...
