Here's the deal: 2000, F250, 7.3L, Cold air intake, wicked wheel, banks big head waste gate, juice with attitude chip.
Im getting a boost leak at 23 psi that sounds as if its coming out right where the waste gate is. Also if im building boost (aka accelerating) and go over a rough spot in the road i have the same boost leak. I can not build any more than 23 psi either.
I put the big head on last nov. had the same exact problem took it somewhere and they replaced the big head problem solved. this time the guy i took it too say no way cant be waste gate banks makes quality products. I just added two full turns to my waste gate to see if i could build more boost....and no change...let me know what yall think!!!
Sound like up pipes if it leaks when you hit a bump. You must have a tuner to get 23 psi anyway. Thats almost max for a stock turbo if you want it to live.
Sounds more like the waste gate opening to me.. I would blame the Banks waste gate. Can it be adjusted? If so try to tighten it up or go back to stock. Boost leaks dont "appear" at a specific pressure level, they are apparent at all boost levels.
I never "heard" the wastegate open on my rig (when it used to open at 25 PSI)... but I've heard plenty of exhaust leaks. What does an open wastegate sound like on your truck?
@A/0x4................when i installed the banks wategate i did the recommended 7 preloaded turns to the actuator rod. two days ago i added two full turns to it and the 2 turns made no difference. does any one know how many turns i can go???
