Mostly to keep this thread available, I have a question:
I know the older distributors CAN be equipped with the cap, rotor and adapter from the '83+ trucks. My question is can the distributor pickup from the Duraspark be retro-fitted inside the older distributors?

C194 Cap
D166 Rotor
C194A Adaptor goes under the cap
I don't think so. The star wheel on the electronic distributor comes off with a roll pin used as a key. I believe the points style cam is made into the dist shaft on a points style dist.
There really would be no point in trying to convert one over. The distributors interchange, and just drop in.
