Power Window Stuck up
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-Aug-02 AT 07:35 PM (EST)]its a 1993 ford bronco......ive pulled the door panel.......i tried jumping the switch to make sure it wasnt bad......when i did that i got a spark and it kinda burnt the wire i used to jump it......when you press the down switch u can hear the motor clicking......so is there a short somewhere or is the motor toast?

You said that you can hear the motor clicking. Have you checked for anything binding. I have seen some assemblies actually get stuck andthe motor wont have enough torque to put it down. Check the rails and all the linkage. Other than that, ohm out the motor. It may be on its way out. Just my $.02.

I have the same problem on my 84 F 150. I pulled the door panel and hit the motor a few times with a hammer and screwdriver while having a friend hold the switch down. It worked for a few days. I guess the motor's on its way out. by the way the motor is original from 84. Ford Tough
