300-6 not starting
I did replace the ket switch today with a used one i had as i lost the key for the other one.
also, before when it has ran, sometimes you had to bang on the engine shrouding around the fender solenoid or jump it while cranking it before sometimes and it would fire up.
Would my new used key switch be the problem, or the solenoid be my main cause making it only want to click each time?
the motor is a carb motor with a fender ecu box just like in a old truck.
If you have juice to the solenoid, then the problem is not with the key switch.
You either don't have enough juice, or the solenoid is defective, or there is some problem with the starter that prevents it from rotating.
--Check all wires and grounds for connection and corrosion.
--Check battery for charge and output.
--Check solenoid for connection and actuation.
--Check starter for connection and rotation. You will have to remove it to see if turns freely, etc.
--Check engine, flywheel etc for problems.
