Tonneau keyless/remote lock

I am trying to decide on a tonneau cover for my 2008 F250. I really like the Leer for the color matching, but still haven't decided if I would be better going with a sectional model (Elite, etc). I don't like the final fit and finish of the Retrax, practical, but still looks rather "thrown together" for a new truck.

Question on the Keyless/remote option for most tonneaus; are the FOBS matched to the vehicle's OEM FOB, or programable? I wouldn't want a second FOB on my keychain.

Any ideas?

Vincent

Nope. My pace edwards key fob could interface with the factory keyless system with a couple of connections. However you would have to tap it near the door. Ford uses a 5 wire reverse door lock in a lot of applications, which would require a pair of relays to get the lock/unlock functioning.

I am happy with having my remote start/keyless fob separate from my keys, and then the Pace edwards fob on my key ring. So I can stow my keys under the seat but still be able to lock/unlock the truck with the fob that I keep in my pocket.

I am not sure how to hook up the output of the tonneau box to the factory arm/disarm. You might get lucky and the lock/unlock will take care of it, however you will have to do some serious homework if you want remote start too.
