Hey everyone. I just recently moved back to AZ, and got my '93 back from a buddy who's been babysitting it for the last 3 years. Now that she's really mine again, it's time to start fixing her up.
First off: my air. When I switch to Max A/C, after 1-4 seconds she starts blowing the air as if I've switched to defrost. It's cold air, which is nice, but I want it blowing on ME, not the windshield. Is this going to be repairable with the current HVAC head unit, or will I need to buy a new / newer one?
Sounds to me like a defective selonoid that moves the gate which in turn directs the air flow. I know on the 90 it is above the HVAC unit in the engine compartment.
On mine it was the white vacuum hose for tne defroster damper motor running to the wiring harness AND the little tee shaped thing that is a check valve that prevents vacuum to your A/C from dropping with engine vacuum heavy load.
Cj I will almost gaurentee that it is your vac line i live in hell with a zip code too I mean phoenix az had the same problem with my 93 to hot and dry here for the plastic vac lines welcom home if you can really say that about this place good luck its an easy fix just follow vac line thru wire harnes and thru fire wall and replace problem solved just wish we could fix dumb drivers here that easy lol
i have the same problem with my 93 bronco. it started earlier this summer. i suspect vacuum as well, but haven't had time to trouble shoot it. it seems to work fine on norm so that is where i leave it. what size engine is in your bronco? i have a 5.8. i need help with vacuum line mapping.
what size engine do you have in your bronco? i need help tracing vacuum lines. i'm pretty much starting from scratch and i have to install the vacuum lines. i'm not really sure what goes where.
