My 2000 F250 7.3 4X4 will not move forward. Reverse is fine. Truck had zero problems, then started driving a beater car to save gas. So I was not driving the truck consistent anymore. Now, just like that the truck has tranny problems? Could it be electrical..a solenoid?
What's the condition of the fluid? Smell burnt? Usually if you lose all forward gears, that's not a good sign. When my old '99 did that on a vacation long ago, it was rebuild tranny time. Hopefully more of us will chime in.
Hello, welcome to FTE. That problem seems over my head, but since you are in Kentucky, it's just a few hours drive southwest (on a trailer of course) to northern Arkansas, for a nice built BTS transmission. Spendy, but it's the last time you'd ever need to worry about your tranny. Call them up at 870 422 3673 and tell them that FTE sent you.
The fluids good, level was always good. No leaks. Even pulled a trailer not long ago and it was fine. Just seems odd that is would show signs by just sitting there. I guess I am just hoping for the best. Whats a rebuild cost? thanks.
Georgetown, I'm south of Somerset so I'm not too familiar with that area. If you were more local I know of a couple good local shops, but that doesn't help you any. You might look up LxMan on here, he is from around that area and might be able to help you. Oh yeah, welcome to FTE, but beware of getting bit by the bug. These are a great bunch of guys who do what they can to help out and you will learn a lot.
