I have a 2000 F-250 4x4 with a vibration problem. When I am driving down the road and hit a bump in the road there is a vibration somewhere in the front end of my truck, and while still driving with the same vibration from the same bump I can hit another bump and the vibration is gone like it was never there. If any one has ever had this happen and was able to fix the problem please let me know. Because it is driving me crazy. I cannot find the problem. THANK YOU.
i hit a noticable vibration when i am between 48-50 mph. 47mph and below as well as 51mph and above it doesnt do it at all. the steering wheel and truck vibrate.
Sounds like tires out of balance, maybe you lose a weight. That's one of the simple checks. Are they Conyi's? Check to make sure the tread (cap) isn't coming loose from the tire.
There are other possibilities, people with far more experience than I will chime in.
Oh, and welcome to FTE! You will find plenty of very tried and true, experienced folks lurking here, great bunch of people.
Be sure to read through the forums and search around, lots of good stuff here.

Do you have electronic shift on the fly?, my 99 f250 has a similar problem and it is the hubs trying to engage, if you turn the ESOF switch to 4x4 high and back to 4x2 and the noise and vibration cease then it has to do with the hubs trying to engage. This may help you eliminate or locate the possible problem.

[COLOR=Red]I have a 99 F250 Superduty with the exact same problem! What did you do to fix it? So far the dealership has replaced the upper and lower ball-joint on the driver side, brakes all the way around, u-joints int the drive-shaft, entire hub on the passenger side, and they had me take the drive-shaft out to have it rebalanced. I've given them about $1400.00 and I'm no better off than when I started! They just keep tossing new parts on it and I'm taking it in the shorts.

Hey Big T, I haven't gotten my truck into the dealership yet, my friend is the head mechanic at a local Ford dealership, he's going to go through the front on shop night after work and straighten out the problem (hopefully). When he finds out the problem and the fix I'll drop you an e-mail on the site and let you know, maybe it'll help.
Thanks Kev,
I'm getting very frustrated at this point. I hate to just keep replacing things at random and the problem definitely isn't getting any better.

We haven't been able to get a night when our schedules worked to get it in the shop, so I'm still waiting luckily my truck isn't a daily driver, so I don't mind. I'll let you know as soon as he checks it out, I'll call and bug him tomorrow about it.
Hey guys any update on this yet cause i have the same problem
changed hubs and shocks
frontend guy says everything is fine still have slight vibration from bump to bump
No, sorry.... So far I've replaced the auto hubs, upper and lower ball joint on one side, entire hub assembly on the other side, needle bearing the axle floats on in the other side, the brake pads and turned the rotars, and had the rear drive-shaft rebuilt/rebalanced. All of which I've been assured that it really needed each time, but has yet to solve the problem. I'm pretty much to the point that I think I two options 1) wait 'til something falls completely off and I can point to it on the ground and that's what I'll replace or 2) make one more trip to the parts store and spend ninety-five cents on a "For Sale" sign. Hope you have better luck than I have.
