My rear window wont go up or down, however the yellow wire reads 12v on a meter when the up switch is pushed, even with the tailgate down,
but with the tailgate up, it does the same... ive replaced the motor.
could it be the limit switch? and where the hell is that damn thing anyways, ive been looking for 2 days, and is it a bad idea to bypass it once i find it?
i was also thinking it might be the key switch, can that interfere with the dash swicth working correctly? i see how expensive those are from other posts, is that bypassable also?
any other trouble shooting hints? its getting cold up here in boston, and im dreading rain!!!!!
I don't know for sure about rear windows but the side windows don't have limit switches. When you reach the mechanical limit it just stalls the motor. I would think that the rear window doesn't have a limit switch either.
This information is for a 93 Bronco. The rear window doesn't have a LIMIT switch as such. It does have a switch built into the latch that will keep the window from operating if it is not latched completely.
