Headers... Tuned vs. non-tuned

I kinda have an idea, but what exactly is the difference between the two? If my guess is correct, tuned headers have equal length primaries so the exaust pulses are equal... non tuned are not so the exaust pulses might interfere with each other... is that right, did i leave something out?

this has been posted before, but i think from the previous post it was decided that they have exact pipe diameters, equal flow and they work at a certain rpm range. I'd stick to some cheapy longtubes, good torque.

Tuned headers can be really good if they are tuned for your engine combination. If they are tuned for upper RPM power and you have a low RPM torquer engine, then obviously they wont work as well. Same goes for equal length headers. Not only do they look silly, but the tube length can be off for your combo as well.

IMO, stick with general long tubes or shorties, unless you know the tuned header will work for you.
