V-10. 8.2 mpg on winter blend fuel. 8.3 mpg on summer blend.

This consists almost exclusively of city driving.

first tank i've averaged 13.6 according to the lie-o-meter, 13.5 according to pen and paper. this is basically rush hour commute to work, but it is mostly freeway - and me being late every morning probably makes it less stop and go

V10 4x4 4R100

I do drive like a grandpa. When i picked it up, the lie-o-meter said 8.2mpg.. I'm kind of surprised at how well it does. my old F150 with 34.5s on it got between 14.5 and 15.5 under the same conditions... overall, the 1-2 MPG loss is well worth it.

WJC, some of the lower hwy. miles are due to the 4.30 rears instead of the 3.73

It's not that bad. I bought the X mainly for towing. Actually some would be surprised that the 4.30's result in better mileage towing due to not having to lock out the OD.

I do too. I have to with all the manhole covers in our city sitting 2 inches below the pavement. And all the trenches that have sunk down 2 inches after digging them up to repair whatever in the road. A 3/4 ton or ton truck rides terrible over all these road defects. But anyhow, even driving like a drunk old man doesn't help my mpg at all. 8.2 mpg and 8.3 mpg is all I can get in city driving.

oops, forgot to mention, i have 3.73s. If any of you with 4.30s around the twin cities want better mpg, let's swap axles

Take it out of the city and mash it to the floor a few times to clean her out. Of course after doing that your driving style may change!
