I just replaced all four on mine last spring.
They still were ok on the outside, but the ball and socket was rusty, and very rough from lack of regular maintainance.
Bought them from the dealer, they weren't much more expensive than aftermarket and all four had zerk fittings installed.
These should be the final set of ball joints that I ever have to buy for the truck.

I was amazed at how much easier the steering turned after replacing the balljoints. Regular greasing at oil change intervals and they should be the last ones ever needed.
A friend of mine had a very squeeky lower R.H. ball joint. It wasn't loose. He drilled a hole in the bottom, installed a zerk, greased it, and the squeel went away. Why can,t a guy do this before his ball joints fail?

That's the plan, along with greasing the zerks on the tie rods, u-joints, etc.
A few minutes spent will save hours and many $$$ later on!!!
Ya I was fortunate enough to have greaseable ball joints on my 02 this new 06 dosent have anything but it looks like they are actully a bigger ball joint then the 02's I am wondering the same thing If I can drill these new ones and install a zerk. Im still up in the air about if I made the right choice getting thos new truck
