Nobody has asked the question;" What size coolant thermostat are you using?" If the thermostat is too low of a temperature or no thermostat at all, you WILL overheat, especially at idle because the coolant flows too quickly for it to stay in the radiator long enough to transfer the heat.

As far as the shroud, Make one. take 2 shrouds, Put them together in such a way, to get the clearance you need. You know Cut and splice
and a few zip ties
