would you be interested in this? I found a set made by doug thorley but they are 700 beans.
How much would charge and could you keep the equal length?
there is a bunch of room to get through the fenderwell because the truck has a 3" body lift and we could cut the well a little if needed.
It's either go this rout or pull the 3 inches out of the body and put 4 ore on the suspension. but either way I would still have to buy new headers because the drivers side header is pretty munched fro the yoke
I Dunno.. still thinkin about it what do you fellers think?
just a bummer man all this oney and time in this thing and I can't drive it because of something this dumb
Doug Thorley makes a set of fender exit headers for the FE engine that comes ceramic coated or chrome. The description says:
"THY-264-C
CERAMIC COATING, 1968-1976,
352-428, FENDERWELL,
3/4 TON ONLY, 4WD, NO HIGHBOY
List Price: $872.00"
I don't know why they would say 3/4 ton only and then NO Highboy - that combination just doesn't exist in those years. They are spendy but they are also the only ones that I know of. Here is the link to the page for the ceramic headers...If you find pair of any brand that work let us know because you are not the only one with that clearance problem
HEY FELLAS,
I will take some pics this weekend. I am working on interfacing a robot with three CNC machines at work so I have been "burnin the midnight oil" at work.
how far away fro Howell are you Jesse? Would you like to come and inspect the situation for yourself?
I found those thorleys but I was hoping to get out cheaper that that
i bought a set of dougs headers earlier this year. 529 for a pair of the ceramic coated. beautiful finish. i have the same problem as you. these arent a true fenderwell header, but they do go over the frame....according to their techs. i think the sight is dougs.com. they gaurantee fit too. i almost dont want to put them on the truck. they sell them non coated too for 3 sumthn i think. i ordered mine through summit.
Thanks highboy,
you wouldn't happen to have a part number would you?
I talked to a guy yesterday that I found on eBay to make a set of puller headers and I was thinking about a set of short pullers through the hood with short bullet mufflers and rain flaps.. but I would really rather have a set of well headers. I bet the pullers with short mufflers would sound awesome though
