cps help

truck died with grey cps in, switched back to old black one, made it 20 miles now black I guess is dead. Got fuel and pumping any help?????

Two CPS's in a row tells me it's not the CPS. I'm betting a sticking IPR.

everything is normal, only code is for air intake heater, always there

You can also check the nut on the back of the IPR to see if it's loose.

It is hidden under the HPOP. Kind of tough to get to but can be done. To change the whole IPR you need a really deep well socket but I don't remember which size. Others will help with that. You can check the tin nut that holds the coil on the IPR with pliers......

Hope this helps. I belive a bad IPR or ICP will throw a code.

Do all your dash lights act normal when you're trying to start it back up? glow plug light come on then go off like normal, etc?

Can you describe how it died? Sudden like key was turned off, or bucking and stumbling?

I don't have a pic of the IPR either, but look where the oil lines come off the HPOP. If you're standing in front of your truck they come off the right side as your looking at it. The IPR is on the side furthest away from you pointing back at the cab of the truck. It's just around the corner from the HPO lines.
