or you could just wing it. I'd at least read the plugs if your going to wing it. White in color means lean which if you cannot get the idle down with throttle stop I would suspect yet another leak and or timing is off.
I'm an FE guy but suspect the idle is similar. 650rpm in gear (park brake on wheels chocked) safety first
Engines backed by standard transmissions generally have a lower idle RPM than do those with automatics. My 292 y-block w/ 3spd standard idles at 500rpm.
sorry I didnt look into your user CP and you didnt mention that part.. not sure on the rpm diff based on std/auto.. will have to assume matt is correct. Seems odd as the Auto out of gear would obviously have "higher rpm" but no idea.. I'd buy a manual for your truck myself.. money well spent.
