actually the multi-hit ones are better than the one smack. the boards tighten up way more that way than the "new" way.
Very interesting man, you are the first guy I have heard say this. I used to work for a guy that did flooring soem some thirty years, and he always had the best "auto" nailing ones, said the other ones never did the job as well.

well...perhaps its different strokes for different folks, but chances are the guy you know/worked for, is similar to guys i know who've been doing it for 30+ years. they welcome the "new fangled" one hit wonder because its WAY easier on the body for them. not to mention as they age, they pay less attention to quality of work. no offence, and no doubt there's exceptions to that rule, but i'm seeing it every day.
i know from MY experience that the auto nailers will require you use many more nails in a warped/twisted board than if you used the multi hit...
perhaps we agree to dissagree, but like i said, to each their own. i have each, use them both on the same job at times...
morning steve... the weekend starts this evening for me... this will be the first couple days off i've taken since the beginning of february... hopefully the weather stays good...
well i'm self employed, so technically i should be able to take off when i want, but you gotta make hay while the sun shines, and the past 4-5 months have been really, really sunny!!! have a good day steve...
