We had a cloud burst, went from nothing to full on in 10 seconds at most, timing was dead on, we wound up soaked and ankle deep in clay in about 3 minutes. 2 old guys can sure break down a site fast
I`m glad somebody got our rain Sherm, wesure didn`t.
Great to hear rain actually happening in Ont John, be sure to send any extra our way.
I acres of dandelions, after 2 days of it I`m almost done trimming mine.
Your 50 looks great Colin, my 56 looks clean in this picture but after a long winter in storage I need to dust it off.
Getting caught in a heavy down pour on a job site sucks privateer.
I should take a pic of the front of the houses before I mow the lawns. 3 out of 4 are dandelion fields, guess who's isnt.
At least now when my sites get rained out I get to have coffee and whatever treats are in the neighbors house. I'm the neighborhood landscaper, renovator, handyman and general jack of all trades. Its what retired farmboys do if they live in the city.
Trucks look good guys, wish I could get back to working on my 78, 350 dually on 89 chassis. Have to move, buy this place or find someone gullible enough to buy it.
I`m sick of my dandelion fields, I guess if it stays dry that should keep them down a bit.
It sounds like not a bad deal getting rained out, I love coffee and could drink it all day long on a rainy day. Treats are a real bonus too.
Your a retired farmer privateer?
Born and raised in Winkler MB, was a real small farm town back then and even if you wernt on the farm you still developed the mentality and work habits. Moved to the cities when I was old enough to escape the small town, small world life. Got my worldly education and started to lose my health in my early 40s. Dear old dad gave me my last name and the same hereditary lung problem that did him in. Acronym for it spells out my last name, COLP disease lol. Lived on an acreage for 6 years before I moved into Calgary, for what it cost to have an acreage I could live on as a yearly income and its next to impossible for an ambulance to find an RR address. Had a stroke Sept 3 2012, but I've come back 85% but the lungs arent strong enough for full time year round working. Still work but on my terms now. Knew it was going to happen and I actually got off pretty easy.
When you go to the corn and apple fest John try to stop in at the pembina threshermans museum as youll only be 3-4 miles away. One of the best experimental farms in western canada is in Morden, youll drive past it as you enter town. It may have changed though due to Harpers budget cuts.
Theres also a small lake and beach west of Morden, IIRC its called Collert beach. Just before the hill on the west side of town theres a small campground on the north side of the road. For a small area theres a few attractions. Further west about 25 miles is Pilot Mound and theres a old metal sales yard. Theres a link to them in the 47 & older thread, I see if I can remember the name. That southern road way has quite a few interesting stops along the way, would take a week to go the 120 miles.
