It's the same yoke that came with the car. I had it out for a while, and the tailshaft bagged. I'll let it be for now. I'll put some grease on the splines in the yoke and try it out. Thanks for your help Gerry.
Morning boys. Some rain and a T-storm rolling through this am. Supposed to be a warm one again today, then dropping quite a bit for tomorrow.
Went to the dealer yesterday to look for an economical vehicle for back and forth to town when I don't need to be driving a truck. While there they asked if I was interested in a project. They have a 2008 F150 Lariat with a nasty sounding motor. They valued it at 3g when a guy was trading it in. I'm tempted to get it and find a motor for it. Shouldn't be too hard to find a 5.4L with lower kms. The rest of the truck has 200k on it which isn't too bad. Going to go look at it closer today, probably take it for a drive and see if the trans/transfer case/4x4 seems fine, maybe look into getting it.
Happy Saturday mornin'all. Man was it hot yesterday! I didn't have any air movement in the garage, and couldn't get much done. Today looks about the same. Sherm: Correct me if I'm wrong, But aren't those truck's a bugger to pull the engine. I think you have to remove all the front sheetmetal to get the motor out. It sits too deep into the cab. Have a great day guy's. stay cool.
Taking the night off. 2 evening's of hot, humid no air movement in the garage. I put on hose's, belt's, shifter linkage, Tranny shift lever, Gas pedal. loctited my frt engine accessory brackets and cleaned and installed the top engine harness:
Looking good Grant, are you using an electric fan? Is that a stock power steering pump? I need to get myself one.
Hot here too and we are under a tornado warning here also

Yes John. I'll need an electric fan. my fan will sit too low, and block off the tranny cooler ports. The P/S pump is the original. I think you need the newer model pump. it has metric fitting's matching the rack ports. It's opaque in colour (info courtesy of a Mustang forum). As for the engine removal.I know of a guy who has it down to a science by pulling the frt sheet metal off and pulling them out forward. He just does diesel's, but I think they both come out the same.
You should be safe with the 90 newer. As for fitment, I believe they all Have the same hub size, so your v-belt pulley shroud press on. you also could use the old saginaw styled pump. Bracketry and fittings are very popular. Going for a quick shower.
