I got home from work today to find a big box of parts, and not remembering what I ordered this time, I opened it up and realized it was Kris' parts for his 70U , or Paul's old one. Anyway, heres some pic of the parts, pay no attention to my crappy camera or kitchen floor:
This is one big R&P set. I would have used a beer can for a size reference, but beer don't mix with rum too well.....
Install kit (Kris, that pretty Yukon sticker that came with the parts already disappeared and into my ranger stash, sorry....):
On the packing list there is supposed to be 2 left hand and 2 right hand threaded inserts. Math quiz for ya, how many do you count that they shipped:
And lastly, a view from the side of one of the 3/4" threaded inserts, so you can see how much they are turned down to fit into the tube:
I'll get some before shots of the 70U, and a few after when it's all pink and purple....
Karl,
I forgot to tell you...I ordered 2-3/4 LH 2- 3/4 RH and also 1 7/8 insert for my tie rod (total of 5). Ill pick it up when I get up there. I didnt feel like paying S&H for 1 little insert. Thanks a lot for your help.
You can have the sticker. Ive got one on my shop fridge and one or two in a box somewhere.
Jesse,
Im currently running a D60 rear with stock shafts 4.56 gears and a detroit locker. At one point I was running Moser shafts but to be perfectly honest I think stock shafts are stronger. I twisted the splines on one pair of Mosers and broke one shaft off at the flange. Mosers return policy isnt "George friendly." I also broke several sets of stock shafts but at $20 a set at the junk yard and considering Ive got 4 or 5 extra d60s here it wasnt a big deal for a long time. Im tired of breaking stuff now.
I got a price from a guy on a set of cryo'd 300M double end splined (30sp inner 35sp outer) shafts with 300M drive flanges for my 60 rear with a full no questions asked warranty but that was $1200. I chose to go the 70route.
I never have anyone to take pics or dont have a camera when I play. Its a little too dry here right now for any real mud but Ill try to get somthing soon.

No it's the mixer can I used for a size reference. I took all the pics at the same time right before I mixed me up a good stiff drink!
I had some problem when I tried to update my sig giving an error code about vB code not being turned on, and I couldn't figure how to fix it, but it works now. Beats me....
