Right now I'm trying to learn the 3-D end of it. The powers that be seem to think that, our clients would like to be able to do a virtual walk through of their projects.
Spring of '87 I think I was at Benning doing night jumps.
Well, a very interesting day today.... By now I have got my carb tuned pretty well, only problem is the secondary pump shot is bit too much (need a smaller nozzle). I'm on my way to work, maybe 3 blocks away at a major intersection on Eubank, middle lane. Light turns green, and when I try to put the truck in 1st, the ENTIRE SHIFTER comes off of the transmission. *%&*$!!!!!! I can't put the truck in gear!! So I'm stuck in the middle lane, and none of the @@sholes in this town will help me move my truck. FINALLY a cop pulls up and blocks the side lane, and helps me push my truck off onto a side street. Now safely off the road, I struggle to put the shifter back in place, and somehow manage to get it stuck in reverse! Even worse! Completely out of options, I start calling people. Nobody will answer, but finally I try the mechanic that works for our dealership. He is only about a block away and shows up with his Repo. truck (a '97 F250 with a hidden hydraulic towing apparatus). He manages to tow me to the shop. Once there, we pry the trans out of reverse with a screwdriver, and find that the pin holding in the shifter fell out and the entire shift tower unscrewed itself. Put it back together and fill up the trans (it was a quart low!). Truck is like never before! Drives amazing! We took it for a spin, opened up the secondaries, and the thing feels like a freight train just hit you in the back, not to mention making the most amazing sound you have ever heard.
Sorry for the long story! Have a great day everyone!
Sorry for the crappy start, but it sounds as if it got better real quick. There is nothing in the world like the sound of big secondaries opening up. Congrats
