Help Please Quick

I am in the middle of the desert and the truck started sputtering and almost shutting off at 1,700 rpm Check engine light came on. Any ideas, I'm in the middle of nowhere.

How many miles on the truck and when were the fuel filters last changed. You don't give enough info but sure sounds like a fuel problem. Not trying to be a smart a**, but you do need a code scanner.

92k miles, not fuel filters, they're changed every 7,500 miles, oil changed every 5-6k miles. I limped it home with out the trailer, going to the dealer tomorrow, although I have already started the buyback process.

Sounds to me like you have the problem with the wire chafin on the fuel pump housing gasket. The gasket wears a hole in the harness and shorts the lines which leads to the issues your having.

I'm at the dealer so much they all know my truck. I've only had it 9 months, it's been in the shop about 10 times. I think the total is up to 6 or 7 weeks in service. I'm going to flip, and i'm going to flip big time.

It's at Ford Country. They are farging idiots. Last time i brought it in they let it idle for 6 hours to prove to me it's not leaking. I pull out of the dealer, 1 day later it's leaking. I am tired of being nice, that truck is going to end up in their showroom, on fire. And I'm not worried about the cops, cause Henderson police are a bunch of idiots that wont' even arrest somone that was cought in the act.

Them having my truck in the shop has cost me around $20k so far. If after Ford calls me back I'm not getting either my money back or a new truck.

Sahara,

You must be getting to drive it some if you were able to put 92K miles on it in 9 months, 2 of which you claim the truck has been in the shop. If you are changng oil every 5000 miles, you must be doing oil changes every two weeks and fuel filter changes every three weeks. I suppose all of this is possible but if so, perhpas the service it's being used in is a bit more severe than what these trucks typically see. Again, perhaps I misread soemthing or misunderstand.

Also, if you have had problems with a dealer in the past and they can't get your truck fixed, I'd recommend you go to another dealer. In fact, you may be better off taking it to an idependent shop and paying for it yourself, particularly if the truck being dow is costing you money.

Good luck with it.
