I took the blue ic boots off the truck. They arent horribly dirty but had to be shimmed off with a flathead. I was careful not to puncture or cut them. Should I clean them with a standard degreaser and reinstall?
Yeah, clean them them then put them back. I would tighten the orange ones, if it works you are good to go. Always better to take them off an clean. 'But I know they are more work.
Ok, blue boots cleaned and reinstalled. Foil delete done. Air intake reinstalled. Orange boots tightened. Ran truck and still 10lbs boost. Sounds different with foil gone. But still not enough boost.....
I do have a vacuum leak somewhere. The hubs wont always engage and the a/c blows from the defrost vents when 4x4 switch is engaged. I have to manually lock them. Will this cause a boost problem? I dont know if the boost and vacuum system are tied together somehow?
did you build a boost leak detector to check for leaks?? this one cost me less then 20 bucks to build..i found i had a leak under the driver side plenum when i tested mine..it would only leak when the boost got around 15 to 20 lb's.....if and when you do it this way..check the line going to the gauge as well..if it leaks and this is pluged in you will hear it..
