crewcab vs supercab

Been looking for a crewcab so getting kids and car seats in and out will be easier then my 94 supercab is.

How practical are the newer supercab 4 drs? Anyone use theres regularly, for kids and car seats? i also like to car pool, but know one wants to climb in and out of my back seat. Are the new supers comfortable for adults?

I see that book value on supers are about 2k less.

I found a 250 supercab, been looking for 350 crewcab, just wondering if i will hate it after i start trying to use the rear seat. Even though it will not be a daily thing, but i have to have the option available.

Also, to make a long story longer. How much differance is there in running gear "01 f350 crew vs 01 f250 super. thanks again everyone.

I use my supercab for my boy's carseat just about everyday, and to sum it up in two word's IT SUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
I wanted to get a crewcab but could not afford one at the time. The supercab will work but it is a real pain. I would go with the crew cab, my dad has one and it is huge. To answer your other question I think the only difference in the 250 to the 350 is the rear spring blocks and maybe the gear ratio. Please help me out guys if I am wrong on the differences.

I got the crew cab and figured if i,m going to drop that much money on a truck, i,m going for comfort features too. I got 3 kids, one in a car seat and me and the wife love it. If you can afford it, go for it. As for gear ratio somebody will chime in. Good luck.

I've had both. The crew cab was way big. Too big for my needs. The supercab is too small for the occasional passenger. They are very cramped. I would imagine a child seat would be very difficult. I find the super cab F250 SD backseat to be less accomodating than an 01 F-150 supercab backseat that I had.

I wish the supercab was a little bigger on the SD.

I prefer the bigger bed, and only care about the supercab for my own personal comfort (being tall), and carrying some stuff inside. If I needed to regularly carry anyone I would say get the crew.

The only difference, as you will find has been discussed to death on the forums here as well, between the 350 and 250 in 01 is the rear blocks are bigger on a 350 and the GVW is rated higher. Some years had a dana 50 front axle in the 250 and a 60 in the 350, but I think that was only 99 and 00.

I've had both. I like the looks of the supercab better, and went to a crew cab reluctantly. I am now a crew cab convert. It has so much more room and is a lot more convienient when riding people in the back seat.

I currently have both.
My 07 F-350 is a SuperCab and my 01 F-350 is a Crew Cab. If you plan on putting adults in the back, Crew Cab without a doubt.

I only got the SuperCab in the 07 since I rarely have more than one employee with me (it's my work truck). I primarily use the back seat to put lunchboxes, binders, sweatshirts, parts, etc. And as mentioned it gives you more room to adjust the seat back.

Crew cab all the way. More space, comfort, looks better IMO, and you can still get any bed with it.

I sold my 95 super cab for my 99 crew cab because of having 2 kiddos to haul in and out now and I have zero regrets. We can get 4 adults and the two car seats in the SD comfortably... never would have pulled that off with my supercab. If kids are your main cargo, I'd go crew. Mine's always for sale for the right price BTW

Another vote for crew. I have a super. Friend of mine has an '03 F350 crew. The difference is night and day. I haven't had a passenger in back yet, the back seat on the super is just for looks, or as a shelf for whatever you're carrying. It isn't any good as a people carrier.

Mike

But not any wheel base I guess was what I was trying to say. The 158 is pushing it for me, and I don't need the extra cab space. Crew Cab Long Bed is 172 inches. One other thing to consider. It was 156 w/ CC SB, but I make better use out of the LB and a toolbox. Some things I don't want to put inside!

CC back seat is luxurious though space wise. Like limo seating.

That's the problem IMO, it is a night and day difference. It's not a choice of carrying passengers, or carrying them comfortably, it's a choice of carrying them at all!

I wouldn't trade my crew cab for anything. I have two car seats in there and you can still walk through without any problem, and an average size adult can still sit comfortably between the two car seats without have to remove them.

1999 to 2007 the Supercab front seat belts suck , they really suck.
They fixed the problem in 2008 by moving the belt clip from the seat to the door.
Also S/B rear door's close weak and move a little off-road.

on the other side they look great, 142" wb has 1 piece driveshaft and easier to park and drive.

I have the supercab and like it,But if I had to haul people it would be a CC.

I have a SC my dad has a CC other than that our trucks are identical short bed SDs. There is not a lot of room in the back of my SC for seating. I wouldn't want to make anyone sit back there for extended periods of time. A car seat would fit a little tight in the back and you would have to put the front seat front a bit to fit it in. Small kids will be able to sit back there but you know kids, they don't sit still and fool around constantly. I can sit better in the back of a CC than the front. Drivetrain wise a CC is only slightly longer than the CC BUT my SC has a much smaller turning radius than my dads CC. The CC rides better than the SC also. I would go with a SB if you can, they look better IMO and will turn tighter also, the long beds have a 2pc driveshaft, the SB have a 1pc.IMO I'd go for a CC, there is tons of room in the back of a CC for three 6'+ adults and it will be like a playground for the kids back there.
