Thrilling

This is going to sound dumb, but I come here because I know you will understand. We had a storm go through last night and there had been some really bad hail lately but so far, none in my area. My recently acquired '56 F-350 has been sitting outside because I don't have the time to clean out and rearrange my shop. I also have an attached two car garage that sits half empty most of the time. I got nervous last night and felt like I was pushing my luck letting the '56 set out so moved it up to the house and into the garage. As I said I just got it last October and haven't had time to do much but little things and it is really not road worthy. I will say though it was a real thrill, just driving it around the property and fitting it into the garage. I had to just sit and admire it while the storm blew through (wonder why the shop never gets cleaned out?).

It will only get worse after you tear your truck apart and start putting it back together. Every time you do something you'll get the urge to sit behind the wheel and imagine what it is going to be like to cruise down the road.

Have fun and enjoy the truck.

I built a 20x25 shop in my back yard to work on my 50f1 in. That was three yrs ago. I now have that full of parts off the truck. I moved the truck into my 2 car garage on my house and one side is full and the truck is in the other side. One truck torn apart sure takes up a lot of space. Now the cab is back on and the engine and tranny are in it and I'm starting to gain a little bit of room. By this time next year I might be able to bring my 54 f100 home to start over again. NEVER ENOUGH ROOM; I think my neighbors think I'm crazy. They heir all these VAROOOOM VAROOOOM noises coming from my garage all hours of the night. If I spent as much time working on it as I do sitting in it(day dreaming)I might get it finished a lot quicker.

I'm just starting to build the 22X20 shop in the back. I only have a cover for the 50F1 until then.

I consider myself very fortunate to live here:

I have 3 large pole barns and several smaller buildings, plus my single-car garage size shop to fill with cars and parts.

For some reason though, my wife thinks that barns are for animals, so the race is on to see who can fill 'em up first.

When the barns are full, there are 40 acres to fill. Best of all, not a neighbor in sight!

The downside? 26 miles to work.

I hear you Stan, you have an awesome truck. My 56 has been under cover since I got it a year ago even though we don`t get bad storms hail is still a good possibility.
You have an awesome place Blaine, kinda like my place with 2 shops, 7 garages and lots of acres with trees!

I dream about 40 acres

Wow, with all that space I'd be very close to having my own salvage yard with all the rusty stuff that would follow me home. My lot is 46ft wide and 155ft deep I'm working with a 20x18 covered work area in front of a full 2 car garage. The garage is behind the house accessible by a 9ft wide driveway house on one side and 6ft fence on the other, had to take the mirrors off the f700 to squeeze through Can only fit one truck at a time. I bought a 94 f700 for the cummins engine, scrapped it out now I have my 56 f600 in that space getting ready for the cummins conversion... 40 acres that's my dream
