Ic That makes sense to me. I would guess that the 55 would go on something like a Cummins 14 liter... they are popular engines so I wouldn't think getting your hands on one would be a problem... If only they would be streetable. Oh well what can you do eh? Just keep looking I guess

Awhile back I discussed turbo options with TJ. He said that you can find the HX50 for around $300. I took awhile but I got a brand new one off Ebay for 300 and some. So they are out there. The good thing about the hx50 is that most people ignore it for a performance modification.

So just keep your eyes open! You'll find one.

For an outside opinion you might consider calling Ron's Turbo in Utah and get his opinion. His business is Turbos. Just a thought.

these turbo arent a direct bolt on are they cause thats drn cheap. I have been lookin at the d66 but for 300 you cant beat that unless heavy mods to the turbo pedistal.

No you have to build a kit or buy a mounting kit. Turbo and mounting kits are about $2500. They can be found cheaper but still unless you get a smoking deal like Farm did on the mount then you will be cheaper on the D66. Unless you are going huge fuel the D66 will serve you well.

Well HX50 or D66 it is I guess. Do any of you have an idea of where to get a not so expensive mounting kit or do I just have to keep looking till one pops up?

Ditto guys. Like TJ, the thrust bearing in the stocker doesn't sit well with me. They are both good choices. There's a couple guys on here with the D66 and I hear they like it.

The h2e mount from beans is like $1200. You can do alot with that. Plus they want another $1000. I think the total h2e kit is like $2500. ouch.

If it was a direct bolt on it wouldn't be any fun!

Haha Well I sure wouldn't be complaining if it was an easy thing to do... direct bolt on would be right up my alley! lol

Why do they want an extra 1000 bucks?

Of that I'm unsure. The H2E is a lot more popular in the performance market. Plus, there are not many turbo upgrades for our truck. So they have a oucple of advantages there.

I've never seen any pictures of the hypermax kit. I'm still not %100 my up-pipes for mine will fit between the engine and firewall.. lol.

It sounds like you might just have to do a little "massaging" with a BFH. It's not necassarily the best option but what can you do eh?
