While I'm waiting on a return phone call about prices, what else should I have done while doing the turbo? I thought about the EBPV delete but that is more money and I hope to get Jodys decel tune soon and will need it for that.
Yea Ron is a good guy. Went and picked some parts up from him on my way to Washington a month ago. He really knows what he is talking about. Give him a call his number is 801.842.9186
Thanks, I may have to give him a call. Looks like a fair price, but $53 shipping sucks. JTharvey just sold his last week. He agrees with the turbo seal blowing.

If you delete it you'll never have to worry about an oil leak there. I've seen kwik post about when, not if, they will leak. Of course being in a warmer climate, your may not get the exercise some of the ones up north do. It seems like the non-ebpv pedestal is kind of pricey, so if you're on a budget maybe hold off on that.
Do you have bellowed up pipes? I guess it doesn't matter since I hear they're on back order anyway.
I'm not sure, I think that since it is has as much play as it does and is hitting the housing, I'm thinking a new one is the way to go. I just heard from my mech pal. $1000.00 parts and labor. $100.00 labor $900.00 for the turbo and will have it done by Sat evening. What do you guys think? It will be OEM or Stock.,

$100 LABOR? I didn't think a mechanic would do even air the tires up for that cheap these days Sounds very fair to me Barry....with warranty right?
Yes, Ford warranty. He works at the local dealership, knows his stuff and works at home when he can. I'm sure he left a little room on the parts for some profit so I don't know if that price would stand if I got the parts. I was also looking here ebay (item 310057849846) , looks like it has some goodies, including a new pedetal and Banks wheel. Just don't know.
Any more opinions on the price? Still trying to decide what to do. I can get one from the guy on ebay with the extra goodies for about the same price and a stock one for about 3 hundred less. I sure the mech will charge a little more. My concerns are this guy works at the Ford place and if I do have warranty issues, it would be easier to handle with him.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I will have my truck back and running good by Saturday evening.

Barry, I couldn't get that link to work, but searching around in Ron's selection I think I found the same number for what your talking about. I'm no expert on turbo upgrades but I did notice it said.
TURBO 7.3 POWERSTROKE SUPER FAST SPOOL .84 TURBOCHARGER 94 to 97 powerstroke turbo with blank pedestal & flange
Just talked to Ron and he has a stock setup he offered me for 650. Damn good deal, even with the 55 dollars shipping, but for 200 more, I can get it local and install for another 100 and most important, back inservice by Saturday evening. Chris, I don't know where that number but here eBay Motors: LATE 99/03 7.3 TURBO POWERSTROKE SUPER TURBOCHARGER (item 310057849846 end time Jun-16-08 18:34:07 PDT)
is the one I was looking at. It would be nice, but I just see how right now.
As I said earlier, back in service Sat. is a big plus. If you go that route make sure to ask if he'll let you keep the old turbo. Wouldn't hurt to have a core laying around for when the time comes to upgrade.
