Ok, just pulled the intake hose and there is a little oil there but since I haven't done the CCV mod, it my be normal. There is fresh oil on and under the turbo, some coming out at the EBPV and around the housing seams. I did check the inlet blades. They had about 3/16" in/out movement and when I moved it side to side, not much but with a little pressure, it hit the front side of the housing. I don't hear it hitting, but I don't think I should be able to move it enough to hit. Thanks for the help, I need this thing to run and run soon. I can't pull my boat with that POS S10 in the back yard.
Ordinarily I would find that funny. Just shot JT a PM, he's online so maybe I will here something back soon. There is a turbo place near me that sells new and rebuilt for what has always been way lower than most, plus I could get it today. I just don't have a bunch of extra cash right now and need to do this as cheap as possible, remember, my back is not going to allow me to do that much work up there, so I will be paying for labor.
Do they do installs, or is your mechanic free? It's hard to beat today, unless it's too pricey. Have you called them yet to get a quote? That may make up your mind there.
Yes they install and the price is pretty good, I have another guy down the road that works for the local dealer and know his stuff. He works in his shop at night and he has done me good in the past. I just need to be as sure as I can before I take it. That brings up another question, Can I fill it up with oil and limp overthere. It's about 5 miles.
I don't see why you couldn't make it 5 miles, but that's a question you could ask the turbo guys. Bring lot's of oil with you since you'll need to fill it back up for the return trip home.
Thanks guys, waiting on a call back from the mech the see if he has any leads on a turbo. I can't seem to get in touch with the other company I was talking about. JTharvey got off line before I could get in touch with him. I wish I could afford a ball bearing turbo, but I doubt that's in my budget just now, and of course my wife is now on the "lets just go and get and new one" kick again.

When my wife start talking new truck for me. I do a little Magic PAA Math on paper to show how much cheaper it is to keep the old truck. Turbo, injectors, live tuning, so much cheaper to repair this truck.
